September was International Balloon Month, providing an opportunity for the world to recognize one of our favorite symbols for celebrating!

International Balloon Month was also a great time for the Balloon Council to remind people about smart balloon use through our Responsible Balloon Retailer program.

Retailers who have signed on to The Balloon Council’s Responsible Balloon Retailer program received free weights for foil balloons affixed with smart balloon practice tips, courtesy of Premium Balloon Accessories and Control Plastics.

Retailers across the country spent the month of September organizing activities and celebrating America’s love affair with balloons. Many retailers provided free balloons to people in need.

In Charleston, S.C., the Charleston Balloon Company delivered a package of balloons to the Windwood Farm Home for Children in Awendaw in honor of International Balloon Month. That event was covered by the NBC affiliate in Charleston, WCDB-TV. Click here to watch the footage.
